About this deal

Glorious Martyrdom is really sweet for only 1 CP, if you can get a Novitiate up close and she does get incapacitated, this could dish out the damage and gain you a decent amount of Faith points. It goes through the various factions that take part in this conflict, and sometimes gives us a hint of what rules and updates we could be getting soon. Once again you have a wide selection of narrative Spec Ops rules to use, just as with the Novitiate Kill Team. Which is a cool way to have the game model that you kept her skull/finger/rib/whatever around as a creepy object of worship. Still, the actions themselves are evocative and there are some solid narrative hooks here for GMs who want to incorporate this into something more narratively-focused.

Perhaps I wasn’t shaving off my sprue gates well enough, but between a mould line remover, a file and a decent pair of RedgrassGames Precision Nippers I like to think I’d done a good enough job tidying up the sides of these things. In addition to Spec Ops rules for each team, Chalnath also gives us rules for a Spec Ops campaign similar to Octarius, with new missions, Killzone/terrain rules, and rules for each of the two teams involved. Escort Mission sees one team escorting a VIP through enemy territory, but the VIP is represented by an objective marker, meaning it has to be picked up and carried each turn. Press the blade of a craft knife firmly into this little nook and carefully drag it the length of the little nook. However, I find 1-3 are the ideal uses, with 4+ being too situational and easy to deny by the opponent as they can simple just move that operative out of visibility during an activation. The melee weapons do seem like the best choice here because they get 3 attacks if they charge at strength 4. I don’t think either of these are unique to this box (the Sisters one definitely isn’t – I’ve got about ten of these lying around), but I’m happy to be corrected if I’m wrong. There are rules for doors and hatches – you can move through these without any impediment, and the ruins have the Scalable trait that was recently added to the core rules via the Kill Team FAQs.

The board remains good quality, made of thick, durable, and easy-to-fold card, so you’ll be able to set it up and put it away with ease. The Chalnath Expanse is situated on the wrong side of the Great Rift, deep within the darkened reaches of Imperium Nihilus. This evolved Pathfinders kill team has access to exciting new toys including a manual control system for their drone support, a marksman rail rifle with inertial dampeners and silent dart rounds, and a debonair pair of wrap-around shades for every team member. Love the aesthetics of these, as they are formatted in each of the factions unique ways through the use of imagery and fonts. The guide is extremely long and at times quite confusing and convoluted – and the bit of scenery you end up with at the end is massive, so good luck finding a place to keep this one whilst it awaits the attention of your brush! At the start of your first turn in a game you gain Faith points equal to the number of relics in your sanctum (max 3), a nifty way to start every game waaaay up on points. Following my last dive into a Kill Team expansion, I was a little nervous I might end up feeling hard done by and disappointed, underwhelmed by a lack of content and a paucity of material that I actually wanted to paint. There’s also a chunky 96-page rulebook containing detailed new rules for both teams and their operatives, as well as plenty of background on the escalating war for the Chalnath Expanse and nine new missions.

Bring the turbulent battlefileds of the Chalnath sector to your Kill Team battles with the Chalnath Codex rules expansion for Warhammer 40,000's skirmish game system. There’s a lot here, and like with Crusade, the emphasis is more on crafting your team’s own personal journey rather than telling a larger narrative, though there are some hooks and interesting campaign things you can do here if you want to get creative. Destroy Foundations is also an interesting premise, but again while planting demolitions around the board is an interesting concept, as a mission it’s going to do its best narrative work when you can connect it to something else, since otherwise it’s just running around doing actions. Your Recon drone counts as 2 choices, but you always take it and you still have 10 other operatives to use. With them saying they will release more of these in the future, expect this to set the pricing for their KT bundle boxes moving forward (and hopefully not more). Kill Team: Chalnath moves the action away from the Octarius Sector to the Chalnath Expanse, where elements of the T’au Fifth Sphere Expansion are battling the Adeptas Sororitas for the hearts and minds of the people living there.

Remote Sensor Tower gives you 1 CP if your opponent picks Recon or Infiltrate in the Scouting step and lets you add 1 to your Initiative roll once per game after rolling – extremely handy for pushing out the advantage. However, the untimely arrival of an Adepta Sororiatas force mascaraed the Tau and brought the system back into Imperial hands. But if you’ve been bitten by the Kill Team bug and want to get playing as soon as possible, the route you need to take is a little more difficult. The more zealous your Novitiates are in the prosecution of their duties – skulking around, sneaking about, covertly chunking enemy operatives with giant swords – the more points you earn to spend on Acts of Faith. When compared to the T’au Pathfinders, the Adepta Sororitas Novitiates are a very easy and straightforward kit to put together. If the Kill Team Roadmap which was released a few months ago is to be believed, these rules releases are probably going to come in pairs every quarter (i. If you’ve already prepped your operatives for their next campaign, show us your work on Facebook , Instagram , and Twitter . You only get one Saint Potentia at a time, and while she’s on the table you gain 1 extra faith point per turn. I am not a fan of being unable to build all specialists from a single Novitiate kit but at least the Pathfinders allow the opposite. Do that and you get bonus XP, bonus RP for how many dudes you set on fire, and bonus XP for operatives carrying inferno weapons.
