A directional skeg noticeably improves the directional stability of an inflatable kayak, as inflatable kayaks tend to float on the water rather than in the water compared to rigid hull and folding kayaks. I genuinely find this the hardest part and it takes me few tries to connect them in the correct way – but that’s possibly just my illogical brain.

Only the rest of the air has to be pressed out a little bit while folding up or taking care that there are no sharp objects on the floor that could damage it.

It is not intended for people or aspiring ambitious paddlers who want to go on regular tours lasting several hours.

It was very easy to inflate, took roughly 7 minutes, once assembled it was very sturdy and comfortable, there was ample room for myself (in the back) and my wife, I'm nearly 6ft and had plenty of room. As the pump is relatively small, it takes a little while to inflate the boat completely, despite the double-stroke function. The Challenger rides low, making it more stable to paddle and easier to get in and out of — especially if you're hauling yourself back in after taking a refreshing dunk in the middle of the lake. Since we moved away from Florida, took up traveling (a lot), and moved into a tiny house home, we haven’t owned our own kayaks despite the fact that we live in a city with a lake/river running right through it.

We even had two small punctures in the bottom chamber of one model on the first day, even though we hadn’t even paddled yet (most likely caused by stones when setting up on the shore). It is not a performance piece and certainly won’t look to break any records but it felt extremely stable and easy to control. It doesn't win any awards, but we think there are several valid reasons to purchase the Challenger K2. g. a backpack with a few drinks, the cockpit will quickly sag at the front and further restrict the footwell).

The Challenger K1 Kayak provides added accessories including: one 86 inch aluminium paddle and an Intex high-output pump for easy inflation and deflation. Definitely recommend it to all who wish to have not only a bit of family fun in the water, but also last minute solo adventures down the river. Intex has other inflatable kayaks, which could be interesting if you are looking for an entry-level inflatable. My wife and I love to Kayak but in a motorhome you have limited space and so these inflatable compact Kayaks are the right thing for us.Overall we found the Intex Challenger K1 one of the most comfortable kayaks we have tested with its adjustable, inflatable seat giving all-day support and comfort. The two seats consist of a seat cushion and a backrest, which are inflated by mouth or with one of the air pump attachments, just like an air mattress. There is a self-adhesive patch kit supplied with the inflatable should you require any patches to make any repairs. But we missed having our own boats so we could take them traveling, stop paying so much on rentals, and head to the water whenever it beckoned.

Great for experiencing lakes and mild rivers solo, this Sports Series kayak is perfect for two adults. Intex kayaks look great and professional regarding design but at a closer look you notice big difference with inflatable kayaks from other manufacturers that cost much more. We CANNOT CLAIM from our carriers for any damaged items that have not been signed for as UNCHECKED or DAMAGED. Probably the least inspiring part of this kayak is how, on our first inflation of the hull, a large bulge appeared along one side in the middle, despite our testers carefully using the included gauge to get the proper amount of air. Intex has always taken all of their products seriously, striving to make improvements and developments in both performance and technologies.
