Dookie itself sounds the same as it always has - quite a thin, one dimensional soundstage - but I’m presuming that’s exactly how they wanted it to remain, after painstakingly mixing it in the first place and not remastering for this release. There are some real classics on here such as "Longview" and "Welcome to Paradise" but really there isn't an album filler here. or maybe a more fitting analogy would be a bottle of really strong hair gel because the punk energy on this album is still as spikey as ever! I was unsure from what I'd originally heard from Dookie as I was just into their American Idiot album but due to it having such positive reviews I thought I'd try it out.
