This sequel, Beetle Queen, moves the adventure and friendships on, as the three children, Darkus, Virginia and Bertolt, try to work out what Lucretia is up to whilst fending off unwanted parents and saving and /or capturing beetles, aided by Uncle Max .

Void Fiend The Void Fiend is a corrupted survivor that fluctuates between a controlled and corrupted form, each with different strengths and weaknesses.Each ball travels at 50m/s and upon impact with the terrain it explodes in radius of 6m and linear damage falloff. The plot is fast-paced and really hits the ground running, as Darkus and his friends hurry to uncover Lucretia Cutter's evil plan. Umbra: Herald of the House Beyond • Bandit Bandit The Bandit is a high-skill combo character that can dish out devastating backstabs while weaving in and out of stealth.

While I preferred part one, this was also a great, exciting read with lots of twists, turns and of course many many amazing beetles. Lucretia is a truly wonderful villain: she's a character that every young reader is going to love to hate. You don’t need to have an inordinate fondness for beetles to adore this book, but it is quite likely that you will develop one.

Then again, it might be that he needs to know as much as he can before it’s left to him to find and face her ultimate ambition.

Umbra: Desperate Outlaw • Captain Captain The Captain is a unique survivor that can control the battlefield with utility and damage - with help from the UES Safe Travels.The Queen readies the attack for 2 seconds (scales with attack speed) and then shoots 6 acid balls that spread out in a 30° arc. Railgunner The Railgunner is a long-range, single target survivor that can instantly kill any high priority target - and from any range. Characters are relatable – Darkus and his friends Virginia and Bertolt are those ‘tweens who are outside the popular circle, but who support and encourage one another. Given the long range of all of the Queen's skills, it is extremely likely they will be used the moment any of them come off cooldown.
