personally I disagree with the authors’ interpretation of Azula’s character, as I have always been of the (unpopular? Throughout it all, she is steadfast in her belief that the only one wronged and betrayed was her, making her the only victim, and that she was right and justified in everything. In the spirit vision of the moment when Azula first consciously used firebending, Ozai is portrayed as wearing the royal regalia, including the Fire Lord headpiece, even though he was only a prince at the time. Now this is the part where we’re going to delve into spoilers, because it’s an important part of the character exploration, so read on at your own risk. Not expecting her to get redeemed in a stand-alone comic so i hope this is explored more in the future.At the end of the story, Azula -if snidely- decides to let go of her desire for revenge against the "traitorous" Fire Warriors and let them be happy without her, showing she subconsciously is aware her behavior toward Mai and Ty Lee was wrong and she doesn't wish to repeat it.
