The accord requested by Monsieur Alaïa,’ Marie Salamagne states today ‘is a true oddity, it has nothing to do with what is currently offered. The leather is soft as an echo of suede, violets sent out the heartwarming you can't point out where, musk is a transparent light, feeling you don't belong to this world but here is a land out of the world you experience the spirits of solitude.

Before i started collecting perfume i disliked this perfume and thought it smelt like a dirty animal. Alaia lasts about average on me, although I don't really care about longevity in my fragrances since I can always reapply. Resembles Feminité du Bois by Serge Lutens, but Alaia has slightly leathery base, where FdB is woody.

Peony can sometimes overpower / cloy out an otherwise promising fragrance, but I really like how well done the florals are in here. If it was just a little bit of leather with the sweetness that people mention, I can see how this would work. I read a lot of people are dissapointed, beacuse they thought that tis scent would be oriental, but why is that?I was sweating slightly today after my morning jog, it’s slightly breezy and the weather is perfect, suddenly the sillage intensifies and sweetens, it’s more feminine than I thought it was when I wrote my first review (I still think a man can pull it off though)…it smells amazing and very sensual.

This is mostly oily-leather and violets on me, with some barely detectable water and musk notes, and a sharp edge is added by the pink pepper. I had traded my large bottle along with the two flankers and it was a good trade as I really wasn't reaching for them, and I could barely smell this one. It's rather for people who are patient and willing to discover and experience the development of its stages.Both exquisite flowers of freesia make you crazy with their charm and the central composition combined with the honey sweetness of the peony excites your memories of romantic moments and makes your heart beat faster. Szekely created a body of heavy translucent black glass ‘half-way between a meteorite and a polished pebble’ adorned on both sides with the famous Alaïa laser-cut pattern – an emblematic pattern which first appeared on one of the leather corsets in the 1990s. How perfect to have the essence of our trip in a tiny bottle :) I may well have to purchase a full bottle of this one! Then the leather note becomes deeper, more rounded and I get a wet, dewy, but still powdery violet and other flowers.
