About this deal

With its 20W speaker system, the A7G offers a soundstage that’s flat and not especially dynamic. Given its size, a decent soundbar is a must, but judged on its own merits it offers solid clarity with dialogue; a presentation that’s clear, crisp and pleasingly sharp but refrains from wondering into sibilant territory. As a big-screen fitting for sports and movies, it also starts at a slightly cheaper asking price than the U7QF model it replaces. But does the more affordable price suggest the A7G is a downgrade on what came before? Design The Hisense 65A6BGTUK is available in a 65-inch size, which is perfect for large living rooms and entertainment spaces. However, if you’re looking for a smaller or larger size, Hisense offers a range of other sizes in the A6G series, including 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 75-inch models. It’s important to consider your room size and viewing distance when choosing the right size for your TV.

While this isn’t surprising for a budget TV, it doesn’t necessarily mean the HDR performance will be bad – as long as the tone-mapping is good. When it comes to HDR10 content, the A6G mapped the colours quite well but was clearly clipping the highlights. This is fairly common with 4,000 and 10,000 nits content, but the A6G was also clipping images graded at 1,000 nits.

The Hisense 65A6BGTUK has a good viewing angle, thanks to its VA panel. The TV has a wide color gamut and good contrast, ensuring the picture looks excellent no matter where you sit. However, when viewed from off-centre angles, the TV suffers from some brightness and color accuracy loss. This is a common issue with VA panels, and it is something to keep in mind if you plan to mount the TV in a large room.

The gaming performance is generally good, within the limitations of the A6G’s innate abilities. The low input lag certainly results in a responsive experience, and playing a first-person shooter like Call of Duty on the PS5 reveals detailed 4K images and smooth 60Hz motion. The limited colour gamut still looks suitably punchy, and only the mediocre tone-mapping disappoints, producing a tendency to clip highlights. On the plus side, there’s no risk of screen burn with the LCD panel. Hisense A6G (50A6G) review: Sound quality

We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for two months in our Accelerated Longevity Test. Updated to Test Bench 1.7 with an updated HDR Brightness test that better reflects real world usage. We've also split the console compatibility boxes into separate PS5 Compatibility and Xbox Series X|S Compatibility tests. You can see our full changelog here. If any provision of this EULA is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent such that the remaining provisions of the EULA will continue in full force and effect. The Hisense A6G is a 4K HDR smart LED TV that comes in screen sizes ranging from 43in to 75in. Hisense appears to be choosing different panels for different screen sizes, with the 50-inch model reviewed here using a VA panel.

The Hisense A6G is a well-made 4K TV delivering solid performance at a very competitive price

Game Mode - Game mode boosts your chances of scoring legendary wins by significantly reducing input lag. Two full-range drivers powered by a total of 16 watts isn’t the most promising recipe, and sure enough there isn’t much satisfaction to be had in the way the A6G sounds. While the Hisense A6G is a solid performer with SDR, it’s more of a mixed bag when it comes to HDR. For a start, it’s very dim for an HDR TV, with a peak brightness of around 300cd/m² on both a 10% window and full-field in Dynamic mode. In the more accurate Cinema mode, this luminance drops to 250cd/m² on both a 10% and a full-field pattern. Let’s start with what’s good. The bezel is discreet enough to not intrude on the TV viewing experience, and the depth of the set is just 78mm without the stand, making it appreciatively slim in appearance.

There are similar models available in the US, known as the A6GX Series TVs, but they're different because they use a different operating system. In Canada, this model is the Hisense A68G, and the results are also valid for it. As Hisense's lineup differs in other countries, the results aren't valid for any similarly-named models internationally. Size When I reviewed the 55U8QFT it had a few issues, several of which have been ironed out since launch. However, the bigger screen highlights some remaining niggles and shines a light on some that I hadn’t spotted before. We uploaded the latest brightness measurements and uniformity photos for the Accelerated Longevity Test. Hisense has been making inroads in the UK market with its affordable and feature laden TVs over the past few years, and its latest range is its most ambitious set. The Hisense 65A6BGTUK has a sleek remote control that is easy to use. The remote features a minimalistic design, with large, easy-to-press, well-laid-out buttons. The remote also has a built-in microphone, which allows you to control the TV using voice commands. This handy feature makes it easy to search for content and control the TV without having to navigate through menus manually. Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output
