About this deal

A bigger difference and potentially useful feature for first time electric toothbrush users is the inclusion of a pressure sensor on the 2000. Another slight difference is the brush head that comes provided. Both models will come supplied with 1 brush head as standard. The Pro 2 2900’s rubber grip provides the colour accent to the handle, to contrast with the white plastic body. Whereas each 3900 is a solid colour. The great number of choices you have within the Oral-B range can make it really quite difficult to decide which toothbrush is right for you.

The CrossAction brush head is of medium firmness and also features indicator bristles. These indicator bristles fade over time, letting you know when the brush head needs changing The next big difference is the battery life. The Pro 2 2000 has over twice the usage time. The Pro 600 will operate for 28 minutes, which is 7 days of cleaning based on one user. However the Pro 2 will last for 66 minutes which is 16 days of usage time. Oral-B iO™ with revolutionary iO™ technology is the latest Oral-B electric toothbrush. After six years of research and over 250 patents, Oral-B iO™ sets the new standard of brushing performance, experience, and design. Experience a deep but uniquely gentle clean with a new frictionless magnetic drive. It directs all energy to the bristles to generate new micro-vibrations. The result is Oral-B’s best ever clean: 6x more effective plaque removal along the gumline for 100% healthier gums in one week.** Oral B Pro 2 2500 N with its bristle protection technology helps inhibit microbial growth for up to three months. The additional advantage is that it notifies you to brush all the corners of your mouth. The Smart 6 comes with1 x CrossAction, 1 x Pro White/3D White and 1 x Sensitive brush head, but the Genius 9000 comes with one additional brush head, that is the FlossAction head.

Oral-B Pro 2 2500 - Q&A

I am not saying this extra mode has no place, but its value can often be overstated. A single cleaning mode is perfectly fine for the vast majority. You won’t find many dental professionals saying you need extra cleaning modes. Both models offer most of the benefits of an electric toothbrush without having to pay ‘too’ much for them.

Even if you do need 2 brush handles, the 2500 can be a more attractive option, because if you buy 2 of the 2500 models you will get 2 charging stands and 2 travel cases compared to only a single charging stand with the 2900. The Smart 5 5000 comes supplied with a more suitable holder too. It sits on a work surface rather than needing to be attached to a wall. It is our opinion is smarter and less unsightly. You just need to pop your phone in it, which takes a couple of seconds compared to the tens of seconds with the genius brush configuration. You phone then sits in portrait or landscape orientation and shows the on-screen timer. Both do a job and give a home to brush heads, but the 9000 is a neater and more desirable solution. While Oral-B has partnered with schemes such as TerraCycle in some countries, it does not yet have its own recycling scheme for used brush heads or faulty products. As the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 is a cheaper electric toothbrush, you would expect it to come with fewer features. It is actually surprising how many features Oral-B have fit into this basic electric toothbrush. StylingIf you need more detail on any of the brushes, read on or leave a comment. Brush vs brush comparison posts Whilst many differences exist, I think it is worth listing out the ways in which these brushes are in fact very similar. The only difference between the Oral-B Pro 2 2500N and 2500W (other than the colour) is that the 2500N comes with the Crossaction brush head and the 2500W comes with the whitening brush head. Out of the two brush heads, I much prefer the CrossAction however if you prefer the pink colour, you can just get the Oral-B Pro 2 2500W and buy some CrossAction brush heads separately. What’s in the box? You can always switch between the way you want to brush with two modes of daily clean and gum care. Daily clean mode helps in comprehensive everyday cleaning. The gum care mode, on the other hand, helps to gently stimulate gums. The Pro 3 3000 has a slightly revised design. It looks a little cleaner. Unlike the 2000, it does not have a rubber grip that runs the length of the brush handle. Instead, the only grip on the front is the panel that contains the power button.

Interestingly, despite the similar design, the Smart 6 is actually part of a range of brushes that includes the Smart 4 and 5 that sit below the Genius range. The Pro 3 3900 has 3 cleaning modes (Daily Clean, Sensitive & Whitening) compared to the 2 modes (Daily Clean & Sensitive) of the Pro 2 2900. Another slight difference is the 9000’s lovely travel case has a clip built into the lid that holds a smartphone, for using the app when travelling.Whilst it may provide some benefit, particularly if used with a 3D White brush head, the differences are going to be extremely subtle, if not impossible to notice.
