About this deal

Hedgehogs: If you did not gain a berry when you placed a worker on a Basic or Forest location, gain 1 berry. The Everdell Bellfaire Expansion is a captivating addition to the beloved Everdell board game. This expansion takes players on a new journey to the bustling and vibrant Bellfaire, where they will encounter new characters and engage in exciting gameplay.

If gaining, choose one of the available tokens, gain the resources and cards, then move that token to the "trade" side. The cards are much like the Events—they make sense. My favorites at this point include the adorable butterfly Poet who scours the Meadow so well, and the Greenhouse, which shares a space with the farm for some combo-tastic resource options. To be honest, just flipping through these cards made me fall in love with Newleaf and the ‘Dell all over again. If playing with Player Powers in a solo game, it is recommended that you also include one or more of the solo variants listed at the end of this rulebook.

Everdell was nominated for a Golden Geek award for Best Artwork and Presentation. [8] Expansions [ edit ] By far the largest and most complex expansion to Everdell, Spirecrest introduces a large new board that adds to the bottom of the base game, and brings with it a load of additional content. For starters, there are new critters, and each of the species that exists both in this expansion and across the base game and other expansions also gets a rabbit explorer. Those rabbits are the brave souls who will adventure into the mountainous region of the titular spirecrest. Everdell is a game of worker placement, resource collection and tableau building in a woodland realm populated by one to four groups of animals. Each player controls one such group, which will be represented in game by gorgeous little wooden animeeples. Everdell is set in a forest beneath the Evertree, which is represented in the game by a large, well made and gloriously detailed model that is included in both the basic and Collector’s Edition versions of the game. The Bellfaire market brings with it unique player power cards. Each of the game’s countless meeple factions can hold unique powers, meaning players must fine-tune their playing style to best take advantage of these new and exciting abilities. This asymmetrical mechanic means that there are combinations-a-plenty when it comes to meeples and no two games will be the same.Axolotls: At the beginning of the game, place 1 of the "any" resource tokens on each of the Basic locations on the board Everdell is a superb game and a beautiful product. It deserves its recently held placement in the BGG hotness list and I hope it remains a popular choice that continues to impress new and old players alike. If you only buy one game this year, Everdell should be on the shortlist alongside the likes of Lords of Hellasand Lowlands, with only your personal preference to differentiate between those in the running. These boards may be used as an area to store resources, workers, and point tokens. Players may choose any board that they wish to use.

Newleaf comes in as the prize of the boxed expansions because it so capably amplifies the world of Everdell and all its charm. Mechanically, the eastern railroad doesn’t overwhelm with only two new spaces. Instead, it’s a series of open doors and, increasingly with the player count, better scoring opportunities. #2 – Extra! Extra!

The card mechanics are interesting and come with elevated depth via the Plots and Plans for those who prefer a more storied encounter. I appreciated the variety of actions on the cards, and I thought the progression of options was easy to follow and administer. There is a variable and viable opponent in Nightweave, and for that, I celebrate the solo offering. If nothing else, Mistwood might entice more players into the Everdell world. There are clearly laid out procedures to integrate every other expansion with the spider’s lair. Across the board, there seems to be a lot of love in this particular expansion. Everdell Bellfaire is the most recent expansion in the Everdell line. The expansion is modular, meaning it comes with different pieces that can be mixed and matched. While it changes gameplay less than Pearlbrook and Spirecrest, and is less thematic, I consider it the most functional of the expansions, since it has some cool elements that integrate nicely with the base game. While Pearlbrook is my favorite of the expansions, if you’re looking primarily for a few extras (including components and rules for 5-6 players), Bellfaire is where you should look first.

Bellfaire offers a number of expansion options that may be used when playing the base game of Everdell or one of its expansions. Before setting up the game, players should choose which modules they wish to include. The details for each module, including setup and rules, are outlined below.Law, Keith (August 13, 2018). "The Best Games at Gen Con 2018". Paste Magazine. Archived from the original on September 30, 2019 . Retrieved January 18, 2019. With an expansion stretching in each compass direction, it sure seems like we’re closing the book on Everdell (in terms of game production, anyway) , and the critters are at home on many a kallax around the world—probably on top, though, because of the sheer size of the box. I suppose it’s time to start evaluating the full panoramic experience.
