Everything Everywhere All At Once (4K UHD Blu-ray/Blu-ray

I got the UHD disk, partly because I'm a bit of a Michelle Yeoh fan. I wanted to see a film that she had to carry. An aging Chinese immigrant is swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led. An aging Chinese immigrant is swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led. (less) Everything Everywhere All at Once was derived from a mix of 2.8K/3.4K digital sources and finished on a 4K DI for its presentation on Ultra HD Blu-ray. Everything Everywhere All at Once comes to Blu-ray Disc from Lionsgate Home Entertainment featuring 1080p AVC encoded video and lossless Dolby Atmos/TrueHD 7.1 channel sound.Watched this with my wife last night and I loved it! Great story with questions on how our various choices in life effect our destiny- and how we interact with family and people we love, blended into a wildly creative sci-fi comedy. Looking forward to watching this again! Starring: Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Kwan, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr. Jamie Lee Curtis, James Hong This is a contemporary and stylish visual film, that adheres to sepia tones and color grading, which ultimately leaves some sequences appearing less visually engaging than others. Color reproduction is consistent, with primaries like blue and red appearing richer, and more delineated. Secondary hues look great, although not appreciably better. The increase in resolution isn't always on display but, in general, wide-angle, well-lit shots both interior and exterior look great. Close-ups tend to offer appreciable refinement and deeper resolvable texture on surfaces and physical features compared to the Blu-ray. The differences, while not staggering, are easily discernible.

This is one that, like The Matrix and some other movies it pays homage to, will likely be a model that thousands of movies borrow from in the future. It also is a reminder why smaller budgets can be key for creating new and interesting visuals instead of of the shiny 300+M cgi spectacles that have ironically become somewhat visually dull. They just swept the HCA midyear awards, but barring some other unexpected movie this year, they really should continue to sweep every award as it is a stunning achievement. I watched this last night and found it a lot of fun! It took some concentration to start out with (till my brain got up to speed), i liked the multi-verse theme, the time shifting as well as the family theme, great story well told. Awesome acting! Finally got around to watching this and was thoroughly entertained. I think Craig's description is right on point. It even had me pondering on some of the decisions I've made in life and how things might have worked out differently (not that I'm unhappy with how they did... well, maybe a COUPLE of things could have been better! 😉).The same is true when comparing the video's dynamic range. Exterior sequences offer the slightest hint of added punch which gives the image appreciable visual pop. Like the Blu-ray rendering, the darkened highlights in low-lit environs, can be hit or miss but it most respects, have appreciable dimension and resolvable detail. Fleshtones are reproduced beautifully, with a natural and pleasing tonality. Viewing Everything Everywhere in Ultra HD didn’t make for an especially compelling viewing experience, however, I found it to be a complimentary improvement over the 1080p Blu-ray presentation. When an interdimensional rupture unravels reality, an unlikely hero must channel her newfound powers to fight bizarre and bewildering dangers from the multiverse as the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), starring Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Ke Quan, Stephanie Hsu, James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on June 14. For those not familiar with the details regarding Ultra HD Blu-ray you can refer to my article that includes some pertinent data on the subject. Here is the link: I don't have the 4K UHD Blu-ray as I bought the 1080p Blu-ray. However, it came with a 4K iTunes digital copy with Dolby Vision. In the 4K iTunes DV version, her face (at 33'43") was as clear on my LG C8 OLED as with the IMAX presentation.

Everything Everywhere All at Once Ultra HD Blu-ray Review Everything Everywhere All at Once Ultra HD Blu-ray Review

Now, having said all of that, Everything Everywhere All at Once is chaotic and most assuredly takes the road less traveled which could prove frustrating. The performances by Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, and Ke Huy Kwan, lead the way but, honestly, I enjoyed all of the performances by the cast with each given time to add a defining element to the proceedings. The humor and action are wonderfully integrated, complimenting and thematic elements with aplomb. I honestly knew very little about this film prior to requesting it for review. I heard positive things about it and given that Michelle Yeoh was cast in the lead, I had to see what the fervor was about. So, I cued it up and let Everything Everywhere All at Once wash over me. First off, this is a mind bending, intelligently crafted sci-fi action comedy with a formulaic yet, refreshing narrative approach that boldly explores themes surrounding family, metaphysics and how we as human beings can sometimes take life for granted. While that all sounds very deep, the film takes a simple path toward striking its chords, relying on a group of easily definable people, each with characteristics that associate them within the story’s framework.Description: A hilarious and big-hearted sci-fi action adventure about an exhausted Chinese American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who is swept up in an insane adventure across the multiverse. Co-written/co-directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert Everything Everywhere All at Once asks quite a bit of the audience but, if you’re open to it, it’s got something viable to offer. A middle-aged Chinese immigrant is swept up into an insane adventure in which she alone can save existence by exploring other universes and connecting with the lives she could have led.
