About this deal

The fact is that with strobing you most likely want to reach fps=refresh rate scenarios (or overkill fps) because of this: Note: Any changes that you make are automatically saved. Whenever you move to another menu item, exit the OSD menu, or wait for the OSD menu to automatically close. Where you put your monitor is almost as important as what model you buy. The monitor should be directly in front of you, at an arm’s length away (between 20-40 inches from your eyes). The top edge of the screen at eye level when you are sitting comfortably. You may need to adjust your chair height or the height of the monitor to achieve this. Unlike most 240Hz models, the Dell S2522HG doesn’t offer MBR (Motion Blur Reduction) and HDR (High Dynamic Range) support. Is this something you wouldn’t be using anyway or a big omission on Dell’s part? Let’s find out! Image Quality

That's actually incredible. The smoothness sounds like a dream. I recently upgraded to a 3060TI from a 980TI and my old TN monitor (XL2411Z) doesn't have a HDMI or DP output. I tried an active adapter and unfortunately that didn't work either so now I am on the hunt for a new monitor. I was reading that upgrading from 144hz to 360-390hz is more worth it than going from 144hz to 240hz, but I don't know how true that is because when the XG2431 did work for those few days, it was honestly the most incredible thing I've seen. Zero motion blur and so smooth! Your Dell S2522HG monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool. It helps to determine if the screen abnormality you are experiencing is a problem with the monitor or with the video card on your computer. One issue I have is that if I cannot generate the necessary FPS for a 390hz monitor is it still worth getting? I know this depends on the game, but in general, what would you say? What truly makes the XV252QF shine is strobing at 390hz, especially with OD Extreme (I tested in SmoothFrog with custom user images with Apex/CSGO/Overwatch Screenshot and VRB Extreme+OD Extreme is the clearest even though some reviewers recommend OD Normal, which is okayish from a "0 overshoot" perspective but arguably provides worse results). Besides the standard image adjustment tools, such as brightness, contrast, color temperature and aspect ratio, you’ll also find the sharpness and hue/saturation settings, but there are no gamma options. If you’re also using your monitor for work or other types of games as well, then a 1440p 144Hz display is worth considering too.

Note: The Dell S2522HG monitor is very heavy; handle with extreme care. It is recommended to have two people to lift or move this monitor. Yeah strobing can be cause eye strains or headaches, from my experience your eyes get used to it after some time and these kind of downsides eventually disappear (strobing brightness also plays a huge role in this). In my initial shortlist of monitors had the Zowie xl2546k and xl2540k and Omen X27 but all of these are TN panels and have been told that the new IPS can replace easily those TN monitors... so they are not in my shortlist anymore. Ensuring that your Dell monitor is set up properly. Assembling the monitor stand and setting up the monitor ergonomically. Connecting the cables and organizing them. These will only help make the viewing experience the best it possibly can be.Use the buttons at the rear of the monitor to access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu of the monitor. To access the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu, press Button 5 ( Figure 7) at the rear of the monitor. To take advantage of 240Hz, you’ll need to be able to maintain a high enough frame rate – ideally 240FPS, but anything north of 144FPS is good. We feel that you should be able to maintain at least ~180FPS to feel a boost from 144Hz/FPS. For instance, at 144FPS, the monitor changes its refresh rate to 144Hz, so you get 144 whole frames per second without any tearing or stuttering. Input lag would still be slightly lower at 240Hz, but then you would get tearing.

Conclusion I'm testing right now with Smoothfrog at 100fps while strobing at 390hz and it is completely unusable, 200fps is better than 100fps but not better than strobing off ( these kind of double images look similar to severe ghosting), 300fps is where VRB Extreme starts to match unstrobed motion clarity, 390fps is where VRB beats unstrobed. To learn more about connecting your monitor to the PC, refer to the Dell knowledge-base article: How do I connect a monitor to a PC? The 3 monitors you named are all good, you should also consider the 24G2ZU (there's also a ZE variant, idk the difference), it has the same panel as the XG2431 and a decent strobing implementation. Removable stand and Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA™) 100 mm mounting holes for flexible mounting solutions.

The Dell S2522HG supports variable refresh rate (VRR) with both AMD’s FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA’s G-SYNC Compatible certifications. This allows you to synchronize the display’s refresh rate to GPU’s frame rate and completely eliminate screen tearing up to 240FPS at no perceptible input lag penalty. Additional monitor information like the model number, firmware version and Service Tag can be accessed from the monitor's OSD (On-Screen Display). Your Dell S2522HG monitor has a touch-enabled Downlight. To use the downlight, tap the touch sensor at the bottom of the display to turn the downlights on or off (as shown in Figure 1).
