About this deal

When they discover the Magitek device that can essentially function as an Allomantic grenade, Marasi's power becomes quite useful, as she can now throw the device and capture someone else in a slow bubble. A Leecher with the Set uses the device in a similar manner earlier, draining Wax of his Allomantic Reserves. Everything in the church is soaked, but there are no serious injuries. The water tower's legs only broke on one side, but it's not clear that it was an assassination attempt. Wax attempts to console Steris, who has anticipated some disruption of the wedding and has booked another church in two months. Wax cannot avoid admitting to her that he is glad the wedding has been put off for now. Steel at a comfortable burn inside his stomach, he shoved on a nearby electric streetlight—still shining, though morning had arrived—and soared higher into the air. Elendel spread before him, a soot-stained marvel of a city, leaking smoke from a hundred thousand different homes and factories. Wax shoved off the steel frame of a half-finished building nearby, then sent himself in a series of leaping bounds across the Fourth Octant.

Dramatic Drop: At the very end, after seeing the memory on the coppermind, which reveals that the Southerners' "Sovereign" is apparently Kelsier, Wax drops the coppermind on the floor. Some sort of being with red eyes visits Suit in his jail cell. He ominously announces that they are going to end all life on this sphere. Then he detonates a bomb. Flight of Romance: At one point, Wax uses his Steelpushing on a misty night to show Steris the "Ascendant Fields": the top of the mists. It's here they have their first Big Damn Kiss. Wax, Steris, and MeLaan go to a party held by Kelesina Shores, where Wax receives a strange coin from a beggar on the way in. When he bluntly asks her about the coin, she makes an excuse and leaves the party. Steris creates a diversion by suddenly vomiting, allowing Wax to try to find her. He finds her in a room talking to Mr. Suit via radio. A female steward shows up, killing Kelesina. Wax and MeLaan manage to kill her and confiscate a gold bracelet filled with health. Marasi spots a spearhead that’s not made of aluminium. She taps into its powers and she starts glowing. Please note that I’m not offering to do anything you wish. In fact, you’re still rather limited in this tier. This is essentially restricted to a few interactions: Intrigue, politics, and conspiracies mesh complexly in a world Sanderson realizes in satisfying depth and peoples with impressive characters.” — Booklist on Mistborn The Set captured the Southerners, dismantled their airship, and started torturing them to discover how their technology worked. It never occurred to them to just patch the poor souls up and politely ask for details. It took them months to get even the slightest idea of how the technology worked, but Wax's crew got answers from Allik in a few hours just by showing him some common decency.

Showdown at High Noon: Subverted. Wax himself claims that he's conducted testing and such showdowns make no sense, as the one that draws first, always shoots first. And when his clueless uncle Suit proposes a shooting duel, Wax does not shoot but throws himself at Suit — getting shot in the process — and then uses his Allomancy and Feruchemy to defeat him. As early as the 4th chapter, why would a temple about the Lord Ruler and his Bands have spear iconography in the murals? After all, who is the spear a symbol of in this world? When Wayne and Marasi discuss Wax and Steris's marriage, Wayne encourages Marasi to be like the Ascendant Warrior and fight for his love. Marasi points out that the Ascendant Warrior killed the Last Emperor's fiance first, and asks if Wayne wants her to kill her own sister. Indeed, Wax's sister tries to kill him, Wayne almost kills her, and Wax wants her dead as well. With The Alloy of Law, Brandon Sanderson surprised readers with a New York Times bestselling spinoff of his Mistborn books, set after the action of the trilogy, in a period corresponding to late 19th-century America.

The "The" Title Confusion: A victim of it on This Very Wiki. There is, in fact, a definite article in the title. From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical, martial-arts action. Rage Against the Heavens: Wax to Harmony, for keeping him in the dark about who kandra Paalm really was and as a result, making him kill his beloved wife Lessie. Again. He gets over it. The iron metalminds enhanced with nicrosil Feruchemy allow anyone to store weight and make themselves lighter, which, as it turns out, is incredibly useful when in a flying machine where every ounce counts.

On October 29, 2013, Sanderson and Tor Books announced that there would be two more Mistborn novels following The Alloy of Law in the Wax and Wayne timeframe of the Mistborn world, starting with the publication of Shadows of Self. [2] [3] Wax and Wayne fly into Elendel on the ship. They talk about Wayne using a gun again. Wax asks if he knew that Telsin could heal, and he admits he saw her metalminds. Once he had MeLaan's spikes, he left her, giving her a second chance like Wax had given him. Wax compliments him but secretly wishes that he had killed her. He goes to Steris's room and finds her alone. He thanks her for all her help, although she still feels like baggage. They walk together to the bridge, and the ship lands on the top of Ahlstrom Tower. Wax wants the city to know about the ship. Allik removes his mask and offers it to Marasi, which causes quite a stir among the crew. Marasi reverently accepts the mask, and they all disembark. Governor Aradel reports that he is under heavy criticism due to the events in New Seran, and he hopes that the ship might actually distract from that. Wax asks MeLaan to explain about the Bands and leaves with Steris. He asks her to marry him--not for political reasons, but for love and companionship. She accepts.

The first two tiers should cover almost everyone who wants a book. Honestly, it’s my hope that putting a higher donation requirement on it will push more people away from this last tier. However, I am willing to do your more extravagant requests here. Marasi tries to figure out where you would hide such an important weapon. She realizes that the temple with all its traps is the perfect decoy. She sees the spearhead right next to her and notices that it's not made of aluminium but of many different intertwined metals.
