Pixar got its start in 1974, when New York Institute of Technology's (NYIT) founder, Alexander Schure, who was also the owner of a traditional animation studio, established the Computer Graphics Lab (CGL) and recruited computer scientists who shared his ambitions about creating the world's first computer-animated film. With Wall-E, Pixar proved you don't need an all-star voice cast –or even much dialogue – to tell a moving story about lonely souls (or computer programs) discovering there is warmth in even the coldest worlds. The movie plays fast and loose with the real story in this decidedly less-breezy film, but its messages of acceptance and environmentalism ring true. Packed to it's lid with loveable characters, fun stories, humour, in jokes, extras and hours of not just awesome animation but some truly classic movie making, this box set is impossible not to recommend.Additionally, two untitled films are scheduled to be released on March 6 and June 19, 2026, respectively. This rating isn't so much a rating of this Disney Pixar set as it is of the fact that varying EU sets are being sold as the one pictured.
