The Simpson Institue was built in 1891 and provides a focal point for the village of Upper Largo and surrounding area.
This facility is run by a Management Committee and is for the benefits of the inhabitants without distinction of sex, sexuality,political, religious or other opinions by associationg the local statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and inhabitants in a common effort to protect the local environment and amenities and advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupations so that the conditions of their lives may be improved and that every consideration be given to promote ecologically sustainable issues as and when they may arise.
Regular activities include:- Badminton, Ballroom Dancing, Children's Dance classes, Dog Training classes,Youth Club, Horticultural Society, Bowling Club, weekly Drop In Coffee mornings, Monthly events, ad hoc meetings. The hall can be hired for private functions.
This hall is open daily with the exception of Christmas Day and New Years' Day.
