Fife Bat Group is a local group of volunteers working for the conservation and protection of bats under the guidance of the Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) and Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). The group not only provides supplementary roost sites for bats in suitable woodlands, but assists private and commercial property owners in managing the roosts established on their property. We conduct a variety of guided bat walks throughout the spring and summer as well as providing presentations to organised groups, schools and colleges throughout Fife. The group undertakes several monitoring studies in Fife to contribute to the National Bat Monitoring Programme and a number of annual surveys to maintain national distribution maps of endangered or threatened species. We always welcome new members to the group who can assist the group objectives in a variety of ways. Group membership costs £5 per year.
