About this deal

Ok, i’m biased - Robocop was one of the first 18/R rated films that I ever saw, and has remained in my personal top 10 all-time favourite movies ever since. A defining moment in 80 cinema, the movie is a timeless classic of action and gore while philosophising what it is to be human, even if that humanity has supposedly been stripped away. When Murphy is in his comatose state, and then operated on by the tech boffins so that he can be reborn in robo-evolutionary form, there are some great point-of-view scenes as the white coated people peer callously down into this face. Then, of course, there are Murphy’s agonised memories of his own near-death, and of his wife and child, which the scientists have not been able to erase.

After we see Murphy screaming in agony, Clarence lights a cigarette and Emil says: "Hey, Clarence! He is still alive!"The big bonus, though, is that this is the first Blu-ray release (that I’m aware of) to carry both the director’s cut and a theatrical cut of the film; MGM’s disc only provided the director’s cut. The director’s cut can be found on the first disc while the theatrical cut can be found on the second disc. The only notable difference between the two is that the director’s cut features more gore, which had to be cut out to avoid an X rating when it was originally submitted to the MPAA, which would have limited its distribution. restoration of the Director’s Cut from the original camera negative by MGM, transferred in 2013 and approved by director Paul Verhoeven Casting Old Detroit, a newly filmed interview with casting director Julie Selzer on how the film's ensemble cast was assembled Stephen Colbert Forced To Cancel 'The Late Show' This Week After Undergoing Surgery For Ruptured Appendix

In the near future, where America has become a police state, one hundred boys are selected to enter an annual contest where the winner will be awarded whatever he wants for the rest of his life. The game is simple – maintain a steady walking pace of four miles per hour without stopping. Arrow then puts together a compilation of director’s cut production footage, which offers the raw footage filmed for material that would ultimately be used in the director’s cut. This runs around 12-minutes.
