About this deal

I think that for pre-school and primary school children it will be a hit but I can't imagine there being many 9-year-olds who would prefer one of these to a 'grown-up' tablet.

There are also learning apps such as a pattern matching game as well as a read-along story that uses the VTech Innotab e-reader style and allows you to either read-along or have the story read.

They mention that it's a great toy for fun and educational, and that the games are good for all types of learning. Lightning McQueen enters the World Grand Prix and Mater tags along for support, but not is all as it seems and Mater accidentally finds himself working as a spy! Some mention that it is a sturdy and good quality product that will encourage, while others say that the touch-screen, they find it very flimsy and that it will not break easily. I can confirm that the Innotab is durable, and is obviously prepared for a few drops and bumps here and there, as Leo has already demonstrated a few times, I wouldn't recommend deliberately throwing it around to see what happens, but it is safe to say the clumsiness of toddlers and children has been taken into consideration!

The innotab uses a Sqlite database to keep track of its installed applications (this is copied to the SD card when a blank one is inserted). InnoTab® MAX uniquely combines our expert-supported learning library with carefully selected educational Android apps. The tablet comes with two motions games, two free downloads on the Learning Lodge Navigator, two touch-screen games, one e-book, art studio and colouring book apps, and several other options for fun and learning. I think that children may outgrow the InnoTab 3 sooner as it doesn’t have the web browsing facilities of the 3S as I think this would keep older children using the tablet but having said that some parents may prefer their children to not have this anyway and stay focused on the educational apps and not have the distraction of the Internet. The best place to start with the set up is by hooking the Innotab 2 up to the computer using the USB cable, and downloading the 'Learning Lodge Navigator' download to your computer.Kids can take notes, draw pictures, create an address book, or use built-in utilities like the calendar and calculator. an even faster console features a 7 inch touch screen, 2mp camera, kid connect premium app, wi-fi, kid-safe internet browser, movie maker app, media player, e-books and lots more. The Innotab 3 has a built in camera which is a really great feature that my 1 year old also enjoys using.

Of course you can download more apps and online content from the online Learning Lodge Navigator as I mentioned earlier. Play through the 8 fun, interactive games in Adventure Bay, Jake's Mountain, and Farmer Yumi's farm collecting badges along the way.In reality, it took about 8 seconds in my tests, which seems laggy, especially if you are very impatient 6-year-old.
