About this deal

The story of an alternative future, where the world has been decimated and set back hundreds of years through the appearance of skyscraper-sized "Titans" - humanoid creatures that destroyed most of the population (eating their victims) and left the survivors cowering behind walled cities until the day when a Titan managed to break the wall. The score keeps things thoroughly engaging, providing a strong backdrop to the desperate defensive manoeuvres, defeats and attacks, and rounding out an excellent demo audio track.

Originally we assumed it would be two, but it’s now three parts because to the studio taking their time with the adaptation. Like the first three seasons, Funimation acquired the streaming and home video rights for Attack on Titan: The Final Season with simulcasts and a Toonami broadcast. It's rumoured that the rights have even been secured for a Hollywood remake, although how Western audience would digest this would be hard to see. Be sure to grab these Attack on Titan manga and Blu-ray sales before they disappear, and check our round-up of other leftover Prime Day Round 2 deals that are still available to see even more discounts.

Part 3, known as The Final Chapters, was split into two television specials at one hour length, with one released covering the events of Volume 33 and another planned to sort out the rest later in the year. The series continues to entertain me with its storyline and characters as we see the direction spiral into insanity, and it’s incredible that a character who was full of rage against the Titans in the first episode is now a completely different person with new goals and attitudes towards everything that has happened, even if it leads to him essentially taking on a rather darker path. Now you may have noticed there’s no sign of any ender box that houses the digibooks, and that’s because the season isn’t done yet so we’ll be waiting a little while longer. If you're new to the franchise, Attack on Titan is set in a land where humanity has to deal with the small problem of powerful 10-20 meter giants that regularly attack and eat the populace alive. It’s been four years since the Scout Regiment reached the shoreline, and the world looks different now.

In this season, the elite force have to deal with more than just the Titans when a figure from Levi's past makes an appearance. Attack on Titan Season 2 comes to UK Blu-ray courtesy of Funimation, who deliver the shorter 12-episode season on an impressive 2-disc set complete with excellent video and audio, with a few nice commentaries rounding out the discs. Under the care of Levi, Eren and the recruits are stuck in the middle of nowhere, enduring Hange’s experiments.Watched back-to-back, despite picking up right where the first season left off, the second season feels inherently better in budget, scale and artwork, favouring full animation over the alternative animated painted stills that were used too frequently to fill in the action sequences in the first season.
