Scotscraig Bowling Club

Contact Details

Scotscraig Bowling Club is run as a private club although rinks are always available for members of the public and guests. The main object of the club is to promote the game of bowls within the town and beyond through maintaining links with similar clubs and organisations. The club provides equipment and advice for visitors should this be required. The fees for visitors are currently £2 per game and annual membership rates are decided at the Annual General Meeting each January and details posted within the club. There is a flat rate payable for all bowling members apart from Juniors who currently pay £12p.a. The bowling season normally opens in mid-April and the green closes again at the end of September. During the bowling season club competitions are run for the members and there are also hat nights/days to encourage all members - new and old - to join in and play. Friendly games against other local clubs are arranged to foster and maintain the links between them. During the Winter months whist drives are held weekly on Thursday evenings starting at 7.30pm and on Fridays and Saturdays bingo session run. During the bowling season the club and bar are normally open each evening and during the close season the club is open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon.
