About this deal

The LORD is waiting to be kind to you. He rises to have compassion on you. The LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.

lie in wait for, followed by נַפְשִׁי Psalm 56:7; followed by ל person Psalm 119:95 (+ infinitive purpose). Good things come to those who wait” is a common phrase used throughout the English-speaking world. It’s used to describe how patience is rewarded. And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.Qal Participle plural those waiting for ( ׳ י): construct ׳ קוֵי י Psalm 37:9; so Isaiah 40:31 van d. H., and Kt Baer Gi (Qr קוֺיֵי); suffix קִוָ֑י Isaiah 49:23, קֹוֶיךָ Psalm 25:3; Psalm 69:7; קִוָיו Lamentations 3:35 Qr (Kt קוו, i.e. קֹווֺ). Yet those who hope in Yahweh Will gain new power; They will mount up with wings like eagles; They will run and not get tired; They will walk and not become weary. It’s possible to use “good things come to those who wait” in conversations with friends, family members, colleagues, and even in more academic or professional settings. It alludes to thoughtful patience that can benefit people in many circumstances. Rather than pushing for an outcome, one waits patiently and presumably achieves their end goal. Patience, persistence, and perseverance are important, each is a virtue. It’s important to show self-control, this will likely bring about greater satisfaction.

Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the LORD will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won't become weary. They will walk and won't grow tired. One little thing of note to my fellow Americans: politics and politicians feature largely in this story, and it’s a bit of unfortunate timing for this release considering the current dumpster fire of a political climate in our country right now. I am referring to the juxtaposition of the world Cass builds here to that of our distinctly charged reality. From the Obama erasure (in favor of Charlotte’s fictional grandmother, the “first [white] female president of the US”) to the Trump erasure (not nearly as bad a thing IMO, but still distractingly noticeable), to the fact that the biggest issue being faced in the “Those Who Wait” political/social landscape is the continued homophobia among politicians and their constituents (rather than things like BLM movements and - oh I don’t know - A PANDEMIC) this book feels like a very out-of-touch representation of the time and place it’s meant to portray in the US. It’s enough to pull you out of the story just a little at times, or at least that is true for me. So maybe just be aware of that (if you’re like me and potentially distracted by that kind of thing) and go with it. You will not regret it. :) Sutton: "She thinks I need to get out more, I guess. And she thinks that I should, um, go out and hook up with someone." All she got in return was a mischievous smirk that somehow turned her on even more, because it should be illegal to be that attractive. Sutton was sure of it. In this verse, the word translated as “patience” means “endurance.” The athletes didn’t take a stroll or run at half their ability. They ran with endurance and perseverance. They ran to complete the race to the best of their skills and gave it their all. They also ran the race patiently by persevering through difficulties. In the Bible, patience is striving towards a goal, enduring trials, or expecting a promise to be fulfilled. There isn't much more I can add that other reviewers haven't echoed already. I loved this story. I am actually going through it a second time immediately, and the only other authors I have done that with are Ms. Noyes and Ms. Ashton. As one reviewer stated, this story isn't exactly new content but there is something fresh about it, and I totally agree. they that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31). Though her brain felt like it was short-circuiting again and her breath left her in a rush, she nodded. "I wanted to look nice," she murmured, in place of the voice in her head that belonged to Regan telling her to 'show off'. but they that wait on God shall renew their strength; they shall put forth new feathers like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not hunger. King Hezekiah had worked hard during his reign to clear out idol worship and restore a sense of purity in Judah. But the nation was being brought down by the evil practices of many of its citizens, and by the threats other nations posed.

And therefore YHWH waits to favor you, | And therefore He is exalted to pity you, | For YHWH [is] a God of judgment, | O the blessedness of all waiting for Him. Different Bible translations of verse 31 convey a similar overall meaning. The NIV uses the phrase “those who hope in the Lord” and the Good News has “those who trust in the Lord for help,” while most others say “those who (they that) wait for (upon) the Lord.” The NIV and Good News clarify that waiting is not a passive act, but actively expecting God to work. One might use this phrase when talking about anything from relationships to economics. For example, if one friend was interested in starting a relationship with a new crush, another might remind them that “good things come to those who wait” and that the relationship is going to better if you’re friends first. I'm totally rooting for Charlotte to become the president one day—if I were American I would absolutely vote for her haha! Damn I loved this book. It's become one of my all time favourite romances. Please read this if you haven't already!Wow. Now this was a fantastic romance novel. This review is just going to be incoherent rambling because this book was incredible! Haley Cass has become an instant buy author for me. Waiting on God is your ability to believe that He holds and directs your life. He is the author and perfecter, and He can do a better job of our lives than we can when we try to make things happen. For example, do you want an Ishmael opportunity or an Isaac moment? Are you settling for what’s good or waiting for what’s best? Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Who looked miraculously not afraid, as she stroked her thumb along Sutton's jaw. "I'm in love with you, Sutton. Terrifyingly, irreversibly, life-alteringly in love with you."

Sutton is coming to terms with the idea that she’s not only attracted to men. To help her take the first step into dating women, her best friend Regan creates a profile for her on a lesbian dating app then sends a very non-subtle message to a woman whose picture has caught Sutton’s eye. To Sutton’s surprise, the woman, Charlotte, answers, prompting Sutton to immediately apologise for the first message and deny she’s into hooking up. Amused, Charlotte starts giving advice to Sutton on how to navigate dating apps, and dating in general. Then, as Fate would have it, the two women meet in completely unexpected circumstances, making their personal and professional worlds (in particular, Charlotte’s political ambitions) collide. And it’s only the beginning of blurring lines. Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him. I’m sorry, darling. I think I’ve spent far too long working today; I mistakenly heard you propose having sex with me.” As we have discussed and highlighted within the Bible, there are plenty of benefits to waiting. Good things do come to those who wait if they are waiting on God. Patience is one of the virtues of love mentioned in 1 Corinthians 13. And we know through Scripture that love is even more important than faith. “ Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love—but the greatest of these is love” ( 1 Corinthians 13:13) Somewhere along the journey, we will be tempted to “create an Ishmael.” Like Abraham and Sarah, we will be tempted to make the promises of God happen. The problem is that we can’t possibly do that. The problem is that we can’t control God or his timing. We don’t help Him in it unless He asks us to. Our primary roles are to wait, make plans, and let Him guide our steps. In other words, yes, good things do come to those who wait on the Lord. but those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.
