About this deal

It's almost time for King Charles III's Coronation at Westminster Abbey. Alongside wife Camilla, he will officially be crowned monarch this Saturday, May 6.

There is a lot happening in Melton Mowbray. On Saturday, there will be a screening of the coronation in the church, and children's activities including 'make your own crown' at Melton Carnegie Museum. There will be a street market and the shops will be decorated with coronation window displays. The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has created a 'coronation celebration playlist' featuring a number of classic party tunes. Some of these include Let's Dance by David Bowie, Our House by Madness, Shine by Take That, One Day Like This by Elbow and Come Together by The Beatles. A full programme of events have been planned for the bumper weekend, which includes a bank holiday Monday on May 8. Proceedings will begin with the Coronation on the Saturday, while Coronation Big Lunches and a special gig at Windsor Castle are scheduled for Sunday. approx – The crowning – the King is crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury with St Edward’s Crown.

A fanfare sounds. The Abbey bells ring for two minutes and a gun salute is fired by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery stationed at Horse Guards Parade. If you've decided to plan a last minute street party, garden party or picnic in the park with your favourite people, whether it's for the King's Coronation celebration or bank holiday fun, there's still plenty of time to get your hands on any essentials you're going to need. Until 4pm families can enjoy craft activities, balloon modelling as well posing in a coronation-themed photo booth. Refreshments will be available during the event and attendees are encouraged to bring their own food, and picnic blankets or chairs.

If you're heading to a picnic in the park, you won't go far wrong with a gorgeous hamper that's filled with lots of delicious treats, and M&S, John Lewis, Fortnum & Mason have got just what you need. Leicestershire' Belvoir Castle is gearing up to host a bumper line-up of Coronation weekend celebrations in its regal surroundings. There will be a screening of the Coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III on Saturday, followed by the firing of the castle cannons to mark the special day. For Adults & Kids. This is a great idea for a coronation party that is being held on the Saturday, as you'll need to have ceremony on a screen somewhere close by. Makeup some simple bingo cards - we suggest going with smaller cards with around 8 squares. Fill the squares in with a random assortment of things people should lookout for! Here are a few recommendations. You can join the cathedral’s congregation to celebrate the coronation with a shared lunch after the Sunday Eucharist Service at 10.30am. Those attending are asked to take finger food and soft drinks. The Big Lunch starts at 12pm. All are welcome and no booking is required.
