Rogers, Nicholas (2002). Halloween: From Pagan Ritual to Party Night. Oxford: Oxford University Press. ISBN 978-0-19-516896-9.

Synopsis: A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.Principle cast:Ward Horton as John Gordon, Annabelle Wallis as Mia Gordon and Alfre Woodard as Evelyn.

Schneider, Steven Jay (2004). Horror Film and Psychoanalysis: Freud's Worst Nightmare. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press. ISBN 978-0-521-82521-4. Font Type: The font used on the poster compliments the image above it, the colour is the font is the same orange, red which connotes to a Halloween pumpkin. The small print (cast and crew) does not stand out much the significant information is bold for example the date of release? It’s a fun Easter egg because it’s something most fans have probably never noticed before – and of course, once you do notice it, the image is nearly impossible to forget. If you take a look at the hand holding the knife on the poster, you’ll notice the textures of its skin and veins make up the caricature of a face screaming in fear. Yikes. Releasedate: This film has yet to be released but will be coming to cinemas on October 3rd 2014 in the USA.Bradley-Tschirgi, Mat (May 30, 2017). "Killing Time and Time Again: The Popular Appeal of Carpenters Horror's and the Impact of the Thing and Halloween". In Conrich, Ian; Woods, David (eds.). The Cinema of John Carpenter: The Technique of Terror. London: Wallflower Press. pp.91–106. ISBN 978-1-904764-14-4. Colour: The use of the primary colour red connotes danger, violence and the huey blues that blend in with the red that fade in the corners of the poster, which looks like a fire burning out. This shot is specific because of the colour and the shot taken we can identify what type of genre the movie is, the colour of the poster (pumpkin orange) could connote that this movie occurs on Halloween night.

Mood and styling: The mood and styling of this poster is based on the night of Halloween, as the sky is dark which looks like hell fire or a large pumpkin. The mood shows the reader that the man/mask in the poster is in control, as the image represents the sky this could suggest he takes on the title of god (reference to the sky). The images in the mask fade out near the edges which could symbolize death or the masks superiority over the people in the mask. From the image we see that this is a horror from the common conventions of the knife, mask and the dark atmosphere. Minutalio, Rose. Archived from the original on February 28, 2007. The ending scene of Michael disappearing after being shot six times and falling off the balcony, was meant to terrify the imagination of the audience. Using a montage of the houses as Michael's breathing is heard, Carpenter tried to keep the audience guessing as to who Michael Myers really is—he is gone, and everywhere at the same time; he is more than human; he may be supernatural, and no one knows how he got that way. To Carpenter, keeping the audience guessing was better than explaining away the character with "he's cursed by some..." [56] Serafini, Matt (June 11, 2013).
