About this deal

Some of the sexual content in this book was tough for me to read, I just don't think stalkers are sexy but Zade did grow on me as the book progressed but I still found the romance tough to swallow.

The fmc's inner monologue also didn't help because she never said that she wanted it but that she wouldn't admit it and blah blah. Leon is a great example of "I hate everyone but you", but this dude is just hating her and treating her like absolute garbage. When she's not bathing in the tears of her readers, she's watching paranormal shows and wishing she was a mermaid. He’s relaxed into his seat, his long legs spread, one hand draped over the wheel and the other resting on the armrest between us. this was honestly such a fun, jaw dropping, shirt ripping, bedsheet gripping, panties dropping, and knee trembling book. There’s a parallel story where our dark knight is also a hero chasing pedophiles, witch, u know, is a good thing! For readers who love stories that stretch the bounds of traditional romance, this is a gripping read due to the characters' complex web of fear and desire that keeps them on edge. We all deserve a Zade the kind of man who can walk into a strip club on a mission and have no interest in or notices a beautiful woman dancing because he already has his own and that’s enough for him. For example, I get that Adeline was thinking about her great grandmother’s murder, but then seconds later she’ll say, “Well, I was thinking about my great grandmother’s murder. Because he shows no kindness, no tenderness and no charmingness, in any way shape or form, I suppose the reader has to rely on a fact that establishes his supposed morality to find him the least bit likable.

So don’t read the books unless you can handle being reminded how messed up the people in this world actually are. Skillfully navigating the psychological facets of the characters, Carlton delves into the subtleties of a relationship full of intrigue and danger. He’s this dub-con, psycho (he literally sends her a pair of cut off hands when she lets some creep finger bang her) stalker who is actually a self taught mastermind hacker who saves kids and women from sex trafficking. The vigilante stuff was pretty fun, though it would have been better if the hero’s reason for risking his life wasn’t just ‘cause I like to kill bad people’. Readers should exercise caution and pay attention to the numerous trigger warnings before beginning this tense and exciting journey. Both characters take part in the teasing and dirty talk and ugh, let me tell you, it was years better than the sex scene in this one. The romance storyline goes side by side with the vigilante one which adds tension, action and drama to an already heady erotic novel but in this case, it adds layers of intrigue and suspense to the narrative and the developing relationship between Zane and Adeline. The performance of the voices actors are so dramatic and forced, combine with the terrible writing style and the ridiculous plot, I just kept rolling my eyes. Lastly, I did dnf this book, and I guess it is possible for it to get better (i think i heard the second book is better) but I'm really not interested in giving this book another chance.

I don’t think I’ll be able to talk about this anymore without spoilers, so this review is literally all spoilers. Like I’m pretty sure with all the high tech gear and crazy stunts they pull that it cannot be cheap.

The cringe-worthy lines I've been hearing have actually caused me to literally roll my eyes and stop listening to books because they were just that stupid and even uncomfortable.

My hope is that through this blog, I can share with you my words, my novels, and my passion for stories. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. says self-affirmations about himself in his inner monologue), he strokes his ego by killing sex traffickers and makes that his hobby, his little quirk. The dark romance cliché is personified by the stalker, a mysterious character whose identity is kept a secret for the most part of the story. Going into this story with this in mind, as the author clearly sets out her warnings well in advance, I plunged in the dark, decadent, and dangerous world of The Shadow aka Zane.

Even if we put that aside, and just focus on shit like his dirty talk or dick skills (he has none), he's gross and incompetent.
